U.S. Economy Grows at Revised 3% Rate Driven by Stronger Consumer Spending

The U.S. economy expanded at an annualized rate of 3% in the second quarter of 2024, an upward revision from the initial 2.8% estimate, according to U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis figures. This growth was primarily fueled by a stronger-than-expected increase in personal spending, which rose by 2.9%. Meanwhile, gross domestic income saw a more moderate rise of 1.3%, consistent with the previous quarter.
