Who’s Hiring for the Holidays? – WFMY News 2 Feature

Reps from GuilfordWorks and Graham Personnel Services show what jobs are hiring and upcoming hiring events.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A new job report shows a drop in hiring efforts from US companies ahead of the holidays.

Employers in the United States added 150,000 jobs to the market, which is almost half of the 297,000 added in September. This number is drastically lower than expected.

Experts claim the strikes played a big role in this drop, as thousands were on the picket lines during the auto workers’ strike and the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood. This caused many employers to post more jobs in recent months.

Now, people are returning to work as several US companies reach tentative agreements with different worker unions.

Despite this drop, employers are still looking to fill thousands of jobs across the country. Many of them are right here in the triad.

Will Graham, Chief Operations Officer of Graham Personnel Services, and Fred Henry, Assistant Director at GuilfordWorks, joined WFMY News 2‘s live Q&A show to talk about what jobs are available ahead of the holidays.
